    Abstract

    "North by East" piece on an exhibit of 238 silhouettes, all cut by Galen Jerome Brewer between 1844 and 1854, at the Maine State Museum in Augusta. Thanks to an anonymous donor, the museum was able to acquire the collection at auction last year for about $38,000.
