Abstract
For the past 15 years, the Maine Forest Rally has hosted up to 50 teams of racers in street-legal cars who race on dirt roads in Mexico, Newry, and Berlin, NH. Rally racing has been popular abroad for decades, but is just starting to gain attention here. The two-day event takes place on temporarily closed logging roads interspersed with timed "transits" on paved roads. The drivers ride in pairs, with the co-driver reading the course book so the driver can anticipate dips and turns.
