Abstract
"The Maine Viewpoint" piece on the possibility that the Portland Public Library might purchase the adjacent former Portland Public Market to house some of the library's most popular sections. The public market was listed for sale for $4 million, although the library's plan shows it being offered to the city for $2.5 million to $3 million. The library is in the midst of a capital campaign to renovate its current building.
