    Abstract

    "Down East Traveler" piece on five southern Maine outdoor skating rinks: at the Mall in Brunswick; Pineland Farms in New Gloucester; Center Pond in Phippsburg; Long Pond at Ferry Beach State Park in Saco; and Massacre Pond at Scarborough Beach Park in Scarborough. WinterKids, a Portland-based nonprofit, has a Passport program that allows Maine fifth, sixth, and seventh graders to buy discounted winter sports passes. With details on skiing, ice skating, tubing, sledding, and dog sledding areas and rates for Passport holders and their families.
