Abstract
The Ogunquit Playhouse, founded in 1932, is one of a few dozen of its caliber to survive in the Northeast. Executive Artistic Director Brad Kenney, who took over in December of 2005, promises that the playhouse's 75th anniversary season will have a star name in every production, as in its glory days. Attendance has gone from 46,000 to 80,000 since 2005. Former owner John Lane, who bought the theater in 1951, donated it to a specially-created nonprofit foundation in 1995 before he died, helping to ensure the theater's survival. With a gallery of well-known actors who have performed there.
