Abstract

Bar Harbor architect Roc Caivano worked with John Ed and Isabel Anthony to rework their Northeast Harbor cottage, built in the 1930s as a "reading room" for a seaside estate. Rather than imitate the Shingle-style cottages that distinguish the town, Caivano built a more contemporary home integrated to the steep, ledgy lot, and oriented the flow of the rooms by activities that follow the path of the sun.
