Abstract

"North by East" piece on Freeport's approval of a grain silo for Gritty McDuff's brewpub. The silo will allow the pub to buy barley in bulk, at a savings. Two other Maine microbreweries--Shipyard Brewing and D.L. Geary, both in Portland--have silos at their facilities, neither as visible as the one in Freeport.
