Abstract
The all-volunteer Pink Tulip Project raises money for the Women's Cancer Fund of the Maine Cancer Foundation by selling bulbs at cost to groups and individuals who promise to plant them in a prominent place and raise a minimum of $1 per bulb. Robin Whitten of Portland started the program, which has spread across Maine and has raised $21,000 so far. While being treated for breast cancer, she visualized the blooming of the 1,000 tulip bulbs she had recently planted and sought a way to spread that feeling of hope to others.
