Abstract

Although the resort areas of southern Maine -- Scarborough Marsh, Gilsland Farm in Falmouth, Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge in Wells, Mount Agamenticus in York County, the Waterboro Barrens Preserve, and Crescent Beach State Park in Cape Elizabeth -- bustle in autumn, the resorts themselves are quieter and more beautiful than ever.
