Abstract
Cherryfield, set in Washington County's blueberry barrens, has become mostly a bedroom community for Ellsworth and Machias. The village along the Narraguagus River has a large collection of historic homes, such as a Colonial that Royal Montana rescued from destruction. With details on the Cherryfield Historic District and on some of the town's noteworthy homes, such as the flamboyant Second Empire William M. Nash house and a house on Campbell Hill that has been lived in continuously by Campbells since 1790. What distinguishes Cherryfield is its wide range of house styles.
