Abstract
The town of Bucksport, spread out below the observation tower on the new Penobscot Narrows Bridge, was once defined by its paper mill. In recent years it has become a bedroom community for surrounding cities, as well as the home of Northeast Historic Film. A landscaped walkway has been created on a riverfront that was once a dump. Town Manager Roger Raymond, who took the job in 1985, gets much of the credit for the town's improvement. Residents hope the new observation tower will increase the town's visibility
