Abstract
A cancer diagnosis impelled John Tynan and Bettina Doulton to leave executive positions and pursue their dream of running a Maine vineyard. In the past two years they have transformed the Cellardoor Winery in Lincolnville into an industry leader. They lavishly restored Cellardoor and have hosted events like Pop the Cork for the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland. A Romp and Stomp Grape Harvest Festival drew five thousand people. The couple formed the Maine Winery Guild to promote the industry, and this year increased their production capacity to about 60,000 bottles.
