Abstract

"Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey is a Turner native who now has an additional reason to return to Maine--the Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, which he founded after his mother's battle with ovarian cancer. As a child, he devoted himself to the unicycle, juggling, and ventriloquism as well as winning the Maine State Slalom Championship. He has a second home in South Harpswell. .
