Abstract
An article describing a day in the life of three Maine large animal veterinarians: Dr. Paula Brenner, an equine veterinarian in Washington; Dr. Becky Myers Law, a food-animal veterinarian at the Turner Veterinary Service; and Dr. Meghan Flanagan, a recent graduate of Cornell University's College of Veterinarian Medicine who works with Dr. Law. Although there used to be many veterinarians in Maine who worked with both large animals and pets, today there are fewer than 40 practitioners who provide large animal care.
