Abstract
The renovation and reopening of the Stonington Opera House in 2000 has also served as a rejuvenating influence within the Stonington community. Once a neglected building, the opera house, purchased by Linda Nelson and Judith Jerome, is used by Opera House Arts to host original theater, performances, and music, including the annual "Shakespeare in Stonington" event, with participation from community members of all ages as well as professionals. This year the Stonington Opera House is celebrating its one hundredth anniversary.
