Abstract

"The Talk of Maine" piece about recent changes in leadership at Maine Today Media, owners of the Portland Press Herald, Maine Sunday Telegram, Kennebec Journal, Morning Sentinel, and the Coastal Journal. In October 2011, Maine Today Media's part owner, Richard L. Connor, resigned as CEO of the group and as publisher and editor of the Press Herald and allegations arose about poor accounting practices and ethical standards. In January 2012, a group of investors, including Chris Harte, Aaron Kushner, and Jack Griffin, stepped in to infuse cash and management into the chain. Includes discussion of the challenges faced by the new leadership team.
