Abstract

"Talk of Maine" piece about Lyme disease in the state. Controversy and disagreements surround the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. The mainstream medical community relies on the guidelines issued by the Infectious Diseases Society of America, but groups such as the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society see those guidelines as too narrow. All parties agree that education and prevention are key.
