Abstract

“Making it in Maine” piece about South Street Linen, a clothing store in Portland that provides flattering, stylish clothing for women over fifty. The proprietors and designers are Lynn Krauss, Jane Ryan, and Mary Ruth Hedstrom, all painters. Everything from the sewing to the dying to posting on Facebook is done by workers in Maine. Only the linen is produced elsewhere.
