Abstract

Part of Down East’s annual Maine Summer Planner feature, the article focuses on Maine’s vintage “base ball” club, the Dirigo Vintage Base Ball Club, which was organized in 2005 by the Washburn-Norlands Living History Center in Livermore in order to play with a visiting team from Massachusetts. Vintage baseball is unique sport with its own rules and regulations. The team’s challenges and history are addressed. Numerous sepia-toned pictures accompany the article as well as the season’s schedule. [images]
