Abstract

Heading north from Key West, Rout 1 wends its way across 15 East Coast states- but we're confident Maine has the best of it all. Let's hit the road and explore the Maine coast, pointing out what we liked the best. From Kittery to Fort Kent this long article points out theatres, museums, bars, food trucks, candy stores, diners, breweries, art, marshes, lodging, restaurants, lighthouses, beaches, hikes, seafood shacks, roadside landmarks, lakes, ice cream, farms and refuges.
