Review of the book Art Purposes:Object Lessons for the Liberal Arts, edited by curator Joachim Homann. The book consists of essays by experts from around the world who write about objects from Bowdoin College's art museum. Homann wanted to offer various perspectives and invite people to question old art-world assumptions.
