Abstract

Brother Don Paul is one of three members of a Franciscan friary in Bucksport, Maine. For 19 years, they also ran a bakery in Bangor, but closed that in 2018. Brother Don had taken up home-brewing in 2010 and after closing the bakery, they opened a taproom which has become a community hub, something the friar considers fundamental to the monastery's mission.
