Abstract

An article about the roles played by recent University of New England graduates in combatting the coronavirus pandemic. Two alumni in particular are highlighted, one an emergency-room nurse at Maine Medical Center, and one a nurse in a Bronx, NY rehabilitation facility for recovering Covid-19 patients. Examples of the anti-Covid efforts of other UNE alumni and students are also mentioned. Describes UNE's emphasis on interdisciplinary learning and its usefulness in the face of a medical crisis.
