Abstract

An in-depth look at Scott Weidensaul's work with saw-whet owls at a banding station in the Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge and his efforts to unravel the mysteries of bird migration. The naturalist and Pulitzer-nominated author has a new book due out which examines the impact of climate change and habitat destruction on migratory birds. The author accompanies Weidensaul to the banding station and describes the work of studying and banding the small, nocturnal owls.
