Abstract

Short piece about Roger Morneault and his volunteer Northern Maine Ice Busters. The group uses chainsaws to cut enormous circles in the ice (the largest one was 1,233 feet in diameter). The ice carousels are then set spinning. Morneault explains how he got started in this winter activity, which sees stiff competition among teams from Finland, Quebec, and Minnesota.
