Abstract

An account of Marcel Morin and his pawnshop, Pine Tree Trading Company, set to close after 33 years. Recounts the ebb and flow of Morin's business over the years; his commitment to fair business practices; and his compassion and respect for his customers, often extremely poor people in need of cash to survive. Describes the extended bout of COVID-19 that led to his physical decline and eventually necessitated the closing of his shop.
