Abstract

Brief essay on renewable energy in Maine, using the example of Vinalhaven and North Haven, whose residents voted to erect three wind turbines in 2008. Conkling meditates on the challenges of bringing renewable energy to New England, mentioning the proposed Central Maine Power energy corridor through the Maine woods and the Wind Energy Act, passed by the state legislature in 2008.
