Abstract
A profile of Will Bonsall and his life's work - the preservation of rare heirloom seeds. Details Bonsall's years of dedication to what he calls the Scatterseed Project - the collection and storage of rare seeds, as well as sharing them with other growers. Discusses the value of heirloom varieties of fruits and vegetables in an increasingly homogenized and engineered agricultural landscape. Describes the financial and practical challenges that limit Bonsall's ability to pursue his seed saving, which could cause multiple plant varieties to be lost.
