Abstract
A short essay about Maine's Allen Island, which Betsy Wyeth, wife of artist Andrew Wyeth, purchased in 1980. Betsy Wyeth had a vision of creating a diverse working community of fishermen, artists, and students on the island. Colby College is soon to take over stewardship of the island.
