Abstract

Article describing construction in Bath of a replica of the first ship built in Maine by Europeans. Master shipwright Rob Stevens began building a replica of the Virginia of Sagadahoc, which was built at the Popham Colony in 1607. Planning for the replica began in 1999 and the keep was laid in 2011. Pending Coast Guard certification, the Virginia is set to launch on June 4^th, 2022.
