Abstract

A collection of articles celebrating Maine's part of the White Mountain National Forest. Pieces include: "Short and Sweet," descriptions of the hiking on four White Mountain peaks under 2000 feet high; "Loop the Loop," offering a "half-day driving circuit of Maine's White Mountains"; "The Hole Shebang," featuring four White Mountain swimming holes; "Casting Call," detailing fish and fishing spots in the area; "Rarefied Air," describing the four highest peaks in Maine's White Mountains; "Meet the Mahoosucs," discussing the Mahoosuc Range, mountains just outside the bounds of the National Forest; and "Nights in the Whites," a camping guide.
