Abstract

Dominique Ostuni, a ceramicist in Bowdoinham, makes deceptively playful hand-built tableware. Mugs, plates, cups and candlesticks are painted with welcoming imagery inspired by her mother’s Italian restaurants. Thoughtfully provoking phrases are scattered throughout each piece. Ostuni discusses how she combines her different creative practices and her relationship to the work itself.
