Abstract
Herb Parsons moved year-round to North Haven in 1983, and since then has filled the roles of artist, competitive runner and cross-country coach, singer-songwriter, editor of the "North Haven News," gallery and small business owner, card designer, avid yachtsman, teacher at the University of Maine at Augusta, and television writer and actor. His gallery is in Calderwood Hall, a former community center that he and his then-wife Jane resurrected as a venue for community art and performances--one that continues today. Parsons is retiring from his position as gallery owner and manager this year and will move off-island for the winter, having played a key role in the community he made his own.
