Abstract
The seafood market is changing and some lobstermen are finding innovative ways to sell their catch. "Branding" and a storyline are becoming more important, and the Internet has allowed small businesses to bypass the middleman. "Maine lobster" as a brand is set apart from the competition. The Ready Lobster Co. in Portland sells rights in Casco Bay traps to "partners." Often a personal touch is part of lobstermen's marketing efforts.
