Abstract
An article on artists' residencies on Maine islands. Artists can spend time at the former home of painters John Heliker and Robert LaHotan on Great Cranberry Island; at the Porter family home on Great Spruce Head Island; at the Eastern Frontier Educational Foundation's Norton Island residency; in a Deer Isle house belonging to painter Stephen Pace and his wife Pam, which will be a study center for the Maine College of Art; at the Robert M. MacNamara Foundation residency on the shores of the Sheepscot River near Edgecomb; at the Acadia National Park Artist-in-Residence program; and at the Monhegan Artists' Residency.
