Abstract

The new president of the Maine Lobstermen's Association board of directors, Kristan Porter, understands the importance of relationship-building in the world of fisheries management, a skill he honed growing up in the small town of Cutler, Maine. Porter still actively fishes, while also involving himself in fishery politics, tackling issues from conservation and right whale entanglement to the effects of climate change.
