Abstract

Brief notes on the passage of Part I of the state budget; the uncertainty as to whether allocations for the Maine Technical College System are permanent; the reconsideration and rejection of a bill prohibiting citizen referendums from repealing building permits; Rep. Paul Volenik's hopes that his bill for a single-payer health system in Maine will be reconsidered with new amendments; and risk of veto faced by the bill prohibiting hospitals from forcing nurses to work overtime unless it is amended.
