Abstract

"Focus on real estate." Three manufacturers of modular homes--Oxford Homes, Keiser Industries, and Burlington Homes of Maine--are near Route 26 in Oxford. All three say this will be a record year, and business has grown continuously. Nine-hundred modular homes were installed in 2001, compared to about 550 in 1987. While non-U.S. manufacturers accounted for only 22 percent of the trade in New England last year, their dominance in Maine grew to 45 percent. Details.
