Abstract

John Diller is now in charge of operations at both Sunday River and Sugarloaf ski resorts. He wants to bring together the snowmaking at Sunday River with the service at Sugarloaf, and says it will no longer matter which Maine resort skiers choose. The American Skiing Company (ASC) has not made an annual profit since the expansion of Sunday River, and its debt threatens the sale of both resorts. Many say ASC lacks leadership. Details.
