Abstract
Maine's liquor laws ban the shipment of wine to consumers' homes. However, Sen. Richard Bennett (R-Norway) is introducing a bill to allow consumers to receive up to 24 bottles by common courier. Bennett calls the existing law "a vestige of our days of very strict liquor control, and as a result Maine businesses have difficulty competing." Maine is one of 28 states to prohibit direct shipment of wine. Details.
