Abstract

"Focus on greater Portland." Portland has only recently earned a vital place in Maine's tourism industry. Portland's Convention and Visitors Bureau, which receives less public funding than such organizations in similar cities, uses a piecemeal approach to tourism, leaving it few strategies for problems like the off-season. As a result, the city fails to concentrate money in important places like the Civic Center. Details.
