Abstract

"Focus on Transportation" piece on Frank Norman, a Lewiston chemist and founder of Future Fuel Technologies, which markets Diesel/Gas Go!, a liquid additive to increase efficiency of diesel and gas engines. Steve Kline, president and owner of Mermaid Transportation in Portland, which has a fleet of 16 vehicles, says he averages two to three more miles per gallon using the additive. The additive was tested by the University of Southern Maine's Manufacturing Applications Center and showed promising results. Norman predicts his revenues will rise rapidly and has hired Peter Kendrick as president, for his experience in startups and acquisitions. With details on the product and its development and on Norman's move from New Jersey to Maine to start his company.
