Abstract

Scarborough Middle School is Maine's newest school and the first to be air conditioned or to use a water source heat pump for heating and cooling. The 105,000-square-foot building on a 52-acre site will serve 600 sixth- to eighth-graders. It is wired for multimedia technology, and 99 percent of its $10 million cost will be paid by the state.
