Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on an upcoming decrease in federal matching Medicaid funding from 69 percent to 65 percent. Gov. John Baldacci has said that the state cannot afford the estimated $112 million needed to make up for the change in the matching rate, which means the state will lose an additional $224 million in federal funds.
