    Abstract

The University of Southern Maine forecasts that December 1995 retail sales, adjusted for inflation, will be below those of December 1994, due to the slow growth in Maine's personal income. New England income growth has lagged below national trends, but Maine income growth is above the New England average. Tables show four- and six-year trends.
