Abstract

Profile of the 80-year-old Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, one of New England's last remaining grand seacoast hotels. Its new theme is "going green" -- recycling, water-saving showers, the absence of televisions from most rooms, and a no-smoking policy. Guests have been overwhelmingly favorable to the changes, which should also save money in the long run. The Colony, like CEO Jestena Boughton's other hotel in Delray Beach, Florida, complies with the standards of the Green Hotel Association.
