Abstract

"Building & real estate" piece profiling Sargent & Sargent, of Hamden, one of Maine's construction industry success stories. The company, founded in 1992 by Shane and Herb Sargent, has more than 100 employees and revenues in 2002 of $18 million. The company does commercial and industrial site work, highway & heavy grading, landfill construction, and water and sewer installation. President Herb Sargent believes his company is one of the few in Maine that uses global positioning satellite (GPS) technology in site preparation work.
