Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on the growth in Maine's real estate sales prices last year, which was the tenth highest in the country, driven largely by the market in York and Cumberland counties. Valerie Lamont, executive director of the Center for Real Estate Education at the University of Southern Maine, is convinced that part of the boom can be attributed to the in-migration of people who, having sold homes in higher-priced areas of the country, can now afford waterfront and other desirable properties in Maine.
