Abstract

Robert Monks, the Cape Elizabeth corporate governance activist, attended ExxonMobil's annual meeting in Dallas in May to speak in favor of a shareholder resolution he sponsored advocating the separation of the CEO and chairman positions. Dale McCormick, Maine's state treasurer and a member of the Investor Network on Climate Risk, attended the meeting as well, speaking in favor of a shareholder resolution asking the company to analyze the potential financial risks of global warming. With a transcript of remarks by McCormick, Monks, and Lee Raymond, chairman and CEO of ExxonMobil.
