Abstract

"Business Unusual" piece on Tara Tango Shoes in South Portland, a company that designs and sells women's tango shoes. As a designer of high-end women's tango shoes, owner Robin Tara sells shoes for about $150 a pair to a handful of customers in the state. But most of her shoes go to tango lovers around the world. Tara Tango designs about 30 variations on 11 styles of shoes, all of which are handmade in Uruguay.
